The Difference Between a Tiny and Small House PDF Print E-mail

Meet Jay Shafer, a man who built and now lives in his very own 89 sq ft home since 1997.  Jay had it with excess and the impact his much larger home had on the environment. As concern for the environment grows Jay's idea and passion does too. Jay has written a book and now runs his very own business Tumbleweed: Tiny House Company. Check out Jay Shafer's story and other homes he has come up with at Tumbleweedhouses.com

(above) The "Weebee" is one of Jay Shafer's tiny homes. This particular model only takes up 102 sq ft.

But Wait There's More

Jay's is not, however, alone on the issue. There are several other companies and people dedicated to building and designing these one of a kind low impact living environments. Whether its for vacation living or permanent living, I there is a growing demand for small homes.

Go see some other small homes from all over the world at Mother Nature Network's top 10 Smallest Homes in the World. Jay Shafer made the cut. Check it out and let these small homes inspire you to live more green.
